In 2026 the Kurdish Institute of Lausanne (IKL) is opening two online Kurdish language courses at A1 level: Kurmancî and Soranî. Both are taught live on Zoom and run for 12 weeks.
Kurdish / Kurmancî — A1

- Day / Time: Every Saturday, 20:00–21:00 (European time)
- Duration: 12 weeks / 12 sessions
- Format: Online (Zoom), live lesson
Kurdish / Soranî — A1
- Start date: 20 September 2026, Sunday
- Day / Time: Every Sunday, 20:00–21:00 (European time)
- Duration: 12 weeks / 12 sessions
- Format: Online (Zoom), live lesson; course material is based on the Soranî alphabet (Arabic script)
Conditions of participation
- Advance registration: Attendance is restricted to those who have registered in advance; unregistered people will not be admitted.
- Course material: Course material and teaching documents are provided by the Institute to participants who complete their registration.
- Certificate: Participants who complete the course receive a certificate of attendance from the Institute.
- Participants living in Switzerland receive the coursebook free of charge.
